CAG - Comptroller and Auditor General of India


The Comptroller and Auditor General is an authority who audits the expenditure of State & Central government including the companies owned by Government of India. It was established by the Constitution of India under Chapter V. CAG is considered to be one of the most powerful body to detect Financial frauds, like the most famous Coal Mine Allocation and 2G Spectrum allocation scam.

Comptroller and Auditor General is actually a person (male or female) appointed by the President of India and holds the same status as a judge of Supreme Court of India.
