DC Volts to watts calculation formula

P(W) = I(A) x V(V)

The power P in watts (W) is equal to the phase current I in amps (A), multiplied by the voltage V in volts (V).

So,

W = A x V
watt = amp x volt

For example:

Current (I) = 2,5A
Voltage (V) = 110V

Power (P) = 2,5A x 110V = 275W

AC single phase volts to watts calculation formula

P(W) = PF × I(A) × V(V)

The power P in watts (W) is equal to the power factor PF, multiplied by the phase current I in amps (A), multiplied by the RMS voltage V in volts (V).

So,

W = PF x A x V
watt = PF x amp x volt

For example:

Current (I) = 2,5A
Voltage (V) = 110V
PF = 0,7

Power (P) = 0,7 x 2,5A x 110V = 192,5W

AC three phase volts to watts calculation formula

P(W) = √3 × PF × I(A) × VL-L(V)

The power P in watts (W) is equal to square root of 3, multiplied by the power factor PF, multiplied by the phase current I in amps (A), multiplied by the line to line RMS voltage VVL-L in volts (V).

So,

W = √3 × PF x A x V
watt = √3 × PF x amp x volt

For example:

Current (I) = 2,5A
Voltage (V) = 110V
PF = 0,7

Power (P) = √3 × 0,7 x 2,5A x 110V = 333,42W
