Catholic Junior College - Catholic Junior College (CJC) is a lesser school in Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-college understudies prompting the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Progressed Level assessment. Established in 1975, Catholic Junior School was the third junior school to be laid out in Singapore.Plans for a lesser school worked by the Catholic mission were first declared by then-State head Mr Lee Kuan Yew at the launch of Public Junior School in May 1970, as one of a few wanted to be set up. Consequently, the Catholic mission revealed plans for a raising support crusade in June 1970.The school was to possess around 15 sections of land (6.1 ha) of land along Whitley Street, and to utilize both English and Chinese to lead classes.Construction on the school grounds was in progress by July 1974, and was supposed to have a limit of 1,500 understudies. CJC took in its most memorable cluster of 500 understudies in January 1975, however as the school grounds was not prepared, the understudies at first went to classes at other Catholic schools. The principal part of the school, containing four instructional exercise blocks, was finished in Spring 1975,while the remainder of the grounds was finished by August that year. With the school's opening, pre-college understudies that were then going to classes in Catholic schools moved over to the school.
