HTML <strong> Tag

<p><strong>Warning — this text is serious</strong>, but you should also know that <strong>this text is important</strong>.</p>

The above example demonstrates usage of the <strong> element.

The <strong> element represents strong importance, seriousness, or urgency for its contents.

It can be used as follows:

  • Importance: In headings, captions, or paragraphs to distinguish the part that really matters from other parts.
  • Seriousness: To mark up a warning or caution notice.
  • Urgency: To denote contents that the user needs to see sooner than other parts of the document.

The <strong> element should not be used to emphasize text. To apply emphasise, use the <em> element instead.
