What is the Full Form of WiFi ?

WiFi - Wireless Fidelity

Wireless Fidelity is a brand, originally licensed by the Wi-Fi Alliance to describe the underlying technology of wireless local area networks (WLAN). A person with a WiFi device can connect to the internet or Local area network using an access point, provided that the device should be in the range of that Wireless access point. Wireless access point (WAP) connects a group of wireless devices to an adjacent wired LAN.

Technical Specification
It is based on the IEEE 802.11 specifications. A typical wireless access point using 802.11b or 802.11g might have a range of 120 ft indoors and 300 ft outdoors. The region covered by one or several Wireless access points is called a hotspot.

Wi-Fi  is supported by many applications and devices including video game consoles, Laptops, PDAs, mobile phones and other consumer electronics.
