What is the Full Form of BHP ?

BHP - Brake HorsePower

The total power produced  by the engine/motor is measured in terms of Horsepower. When the power is measured by means of a dynamometer or similar braking device, it is called brake horsepower. It is the amount of power generated by the motor without taking into consideration any device that may slow down the speed of motor.

To calculate the Brake Horsepower (BHP) of a motor, it is necessary to consider the total load of the electric motor, and the amount of power loss that occurs due to the action of various belts and pulleys.
